SUMMARY:Winter Training Session 1
DESCRIPTION:Join our winter training sessions to develop more advanced sailing skills\, explore instructor training or enjoy time on the water. Adults and children are welcome. \nMeet at 12 noon and finish around 3pm. We start indoors\, then practise on the water under close supervision. Those considering Assistant or Dinghy Instructor training can practise briefing students and running a session. Sailors who want to take part as students are welcome too. \nAttendees should be able to sail independently\, with RYA Youth Stage 3 completed or close to completion\, or Adult Level 2. If you are not yet at this level\, please get in touch to discuss joining us. \nA typical session includes around 20 minutes in the clubhouse\, followed by 30 to 40 minutes on the water\, depending on the wind and temperature. We then come inside for a warm drink before repeating. The programme may change with the weather. Each session starts with a recap\, so you do not need to attend every date. \nThis session\nOn shore \nThe RYA “Method”. \nOn the water \nTacking and gybing\, roll-tacking and roll-gybing. \nTo join us or ask a question\, email chiefinstructor@wwysa.org.uk.
