SUMMARY:HRH The Princess Royal visit to WWYSA
DESCRIPTION:1.   RSVP Requirement:\nAs required by the Royal Household protocols\, we kindly request that you RSVP by Friday 3rd January 2025 for all members of your party. Please note\, if we do not receive your RSVP by this date\, your name will not appear on the guest list and therefore you will not be permitted to enter the premises. \n2.   Identification and Invite Confirmation:\nOn the day of the event\, anyone aged 16 or over will need to bring valid photographic ID and present your invite email upon arrival for security purposes.  \n3.   Parking:\nPlease be aware that the car park will not be available. We recommend making alternative parking arrangements and encourage lift-sharing with other attendees.  There is a car park within walking distance of the club\, just past the train station. Please note charges apply and are only payable using phone app or card. \n4.   Photography and Mobile Phones:\nAs required by the Royal Household protocols\, personal photography is not permitted during the event. All phones must be switched off and put away. We will have an official photographer capturing the event. \n5.   Consent for Photography:\nPlease indicate in your RSVP whether or not you give consent for yourself and/or your child to be photographed during the event. These photos may be used on our website\, social media and club newsletter. \n6.   Limited Toilet Facilities:\nPlease note that there will be limited toilet facilities available at the venue during the visit. \n7.   Invitation Limitations:\nThis invitation is extended to members and their direct family only to a maximum of 5 persons. We kindly ask that you adhere to this limitation.  The name of each person attending must be provided at the time of the RSVP\, with no exceptions. Places for additional family members are limited\, so we encourage you to reply as early as possible to secure their attendance. \n8.   Arrival Time:\nYou must be on site no later than 1:25 PM. Unfortunately\, we will not be able to accommodate any entries after this time. Please allow time for parking and walking to the club.  \n9.   Outdoor Event:\nYou will be outdoors for the duration of the visit (approximately 1.5 hours)\, so we recommend you dress warmly to ensure your comfort.

SUMMARY:Disability Awareness Course
DESCRIPTION:Peter Bone\, Sailing Developer – RYA South West\, has kindly offered to run a 1-day course on Disability Awareness. \nThis will be held on Saturday 25th January 2025 starting at 9.30am and will be held at our Clubhouse. It is anticipated to finish around 4.00pm so please bring your own lunch. \nSpaces are limited so please can you email Principal@WWYSA.org.uk if you would like to reserve your space. \nA maximum number of 12 can be accommodated initially but if the demand is higher\, Pete has said he will see what he can do. \nCOURSE OVERVIEW: \nAround 1 in 5 people have a disability so understanding the barriers that prevent people taking part is really important. \nBased on the social model of disability and using several scenarios\, the course will give you: \n\nA set of frameworks\, principles and models to engage people so that can be active and take part in boating\nIdeas on identifying and removing barriers to participation\nThe confidence and skills to adopt a person centred approach based on asking not assuming\, listening and adapting\, and delivering opportunities to get on the water and learning from them.
