Following the success of the 2024 event Whitefriars Sailing Club (WSC) RC Section will be holding an open day for J Class boats and other large boats on Saturday 14 June 2025. There will also be a number of static boat displays.
The days sailing will start at 10.00 with a finish of 16.00 but the day will be very flexible. There will be someone to open up the clubhouse from about 9.00. There is NO need to pre book and there is NO cost to attend the day, just turn up and speak to the organisers on the day. You are quite welcome even if you do not have a boat.
Part of the lake will be set out for organised racing and another part for informal sailing.
Please note tea and coffee will be available from the club house. However lunch and other food will NOT be available so bring your own food.
For further information please contact Roger Prout email [email protected]
The full address of the club is:

Access to the lake is down a single track road with passing places. There is a gate with an electronic lock which can be opened by entering the code 8139# on the keypad on the day. When you arrive you can drive down to the clubhouse at the end of the track to unload and then you should take your car to the car park for the day. There will be somebody from WSC at the clubhouse if needed from 9.00. You do not need the code to exit the Club. Drive up to the gates wait for them to open automatically and exit. They will automatically close when you have driven through.
PLEASE NOTE: For insurance purposes the Sailing Club requires that all those on or next to the water wear a buoyancy aid. There should be some for the day but if you have your own we suggest you bring it.
