Sunday's RC Boats Day was a brilliant success and another reminder of just how much fun can be had on the water, even when the boats are only a couple of feet long.

Twenty-three sailors made their way to the lake for a day of radio-controlled racing. While that was slightly down on last year's turnout, what the day lacked in numbers it more than made up for in atmosphere. The racing was competitive, the banter was flowing, and the company was first class.

A highlight of the event was a visit from Alan Horne, who arrived with an impressive collection of kits and hulls for attendees to admire and discuss. PJ Sails also joined us with their trade stand and had a fantastic day on the water themselves, a welcome addition to the event.

A special mention must go to Julie, whose catering kept everyone fuelled throughout the day. And the finances tell their own story: the event returned a tidy profit of £160, which will go back into supporting the club.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the day run smoothly. Your time and effort is what makes events like this possible. We're already looking forward to seeing you all again next year.
